The
public
inquiry into the rejected planning application for the QEB
site started on 15th May. It was then promptly adjourned until 19th June. The appeal is scheduled
to then run through into the middle of August (with a 3 week break in
July).
Anyone who wishes to register a desire
to speak at the main appeal MUST attend on the 15th May to make
themselves known to the Planning Inspector.
The appeal will be held in the Princes Hall Aldershot.
We reiterate that it would be of benefit
if members of the public could attend for at least a day or two – or
for a few hours on a number of days throughout the process. It is vital
that the public demonstrate the level of concern held by the local
community over this application.
It is widely
recognized that some form of development could fit
sympathetically on this site but that the proposal to build 1,132
dwellings without any substantial supporting infrastructure is wrong
and would irretrievably blight the area. The restriction in the
capacity of the Bourley Road car park is also very wrong and can not be
justified, as is picked up in the QEB Campaign's Proof of Evidence.
What are the CCH doing for the Appeal?
Members
of the
Community Campaign (Hart) have spent many months helping the QEB
campaign prepare their Proof of Evidence (PoE) for the QEB appeal. The
QEB Campaign have published this PoE on their web-site, do please go
and have a look. This has been a lot of hard work on the
Community's
behalf and the end result is a very strong case, not only for NOT
restricting access to the Bourley Road car park but also with regards
to the impact on our roads.
